Combining hot and cold stone therapy with a full body massage provides a very healing and effective experience. Hot stones expand blood vessels, which encourages blood flow throughout the body and cold stones reduce inflamation. Both types of stone penertrate deep into the muscle tissues resulting in reduced tension relieving pain. Stone therapy has the additional benefits of reducing stress and promoting deep relaxation.

Holistic therapy
Ear candling (also known as thermo-auricular therapy) aims to help symptoms associated with the ear, nose and throat. It involves placing a hollow, cone-shaped tube (or ‘candle’) made of cotton, soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs, into the ear canal. This stimulates the ear and is believed to facilitate the removal of excess wax and impurities. Ear candling can promote deep relaxation and helps to relieve stress and revitalise the body.

ABOUT ME
After I finishing my second maternity leave I was hesitant about returning to my finance role in London. My main concerns had been profit margins and cost analysis, and after 10 years, I wanted something a bit more fulfilling.
I had always been interested in massage and decided to enrol on a Level 3 NVQ Swedish massage course, and I haven’t looked back! I really do love what I do!
Massage is a powerful tool and I believe everyone could benefit from regular massage treatments. Massage will help with aching muscles caused by postural issues, sitting at a desk all day can take its toll on the neck and shoulders!
Massage not only helps with aching muscles, but at a time where we are constantly on the go and ticking through our to-do list, it is an amazing stress reliever. Massage will help reduce tension headaches and even improve sleep quality! Mindfulness and self care It is important that we make time for ourselves and take time to switch off, even just for an hour.
As well as working at The Biggleswade Skin Clinic, I also work at spa once a week. I love being part of the spa environment as it keeps me up to date with new techniques and training, but due to quick turnaround times, it can lack the personal touch. I want to bring my spa training to my work and deliver a quality treatment in a relaxed environment where each treatment is tailored to the individual.
